Katie Bennison
Creator and Host
As the Creator and Host of the Life on the Spectrum Podcast, Katie Bennison is uniquely qualified to develop the “go to” podcast for families and individuals impacted by Autism.
Katie is the mother of a teenage girl living with autism and has a heartfelt passion for empowering kids living on the spectrum.
In addition to her work as a Special Education Assistant in the West Vancouver School District, Katie brings over thirty years of broadcast industry experience to the program [CBC, CTV, News1130, Satellite Radio Network].
Katie is Creator and Director of 'Lights, Camera, Autism', a unique workshop for teens on the spectrum which teaches broadcasting skills as a fun way for participants to practise their social and communication skills.
In association with AutismBC, with a grant from TELUS, ‘Lights, Camera, Autism’ is now offering workshops in four Metro Vancouver School Districts. Here’s a sampling of the inspiring results: LCA Youtube Channel.
Katie is very excited about the Life on the Spectrum Podcast and using this platform to provide support and answers, help reduce isolation and give a voice to those living with autism.
